| Naming the Elephant; dealing with "undiscussables" |
with Mary Ann Archer, EdD
What is the cost of silence to your organization? What happens when the prevailing culture prevents essential information from being surfaced? Remember Walkerton, Enron, the sponsorship scandal, and the Columbia space shuttle disaster. In all of these cases, the culture of silence was more than costly. | Teams and Change Leadership |
with Dr. Marilyn Laiken This 2-day workshop is designed for managers, supervisors, consultants, team or project leaders, and informal group leaders in any setting.
Change leadership through team development has become a key strategy in growing high performing, 21st century organizations. Cohesive work teams, in which personal needs and organizational goals can be aligned, are central to effective organizational performance. However, highly effective teams do not suddenly emerge on their own, fully developed and highly motivated. Successful teams require careful and consistent nurturing as they evolve from a collection of individuals to an integrated, high functioning unit that unleashes the creative potential in each of its members.

Recent Canadian research indicates that team members won't easily confront differences among managers and team leaders won't surface and confront the conflict that inevitably arises in group situations. In the afternoon, we will focus on Polarity Management as an approach to managing difference in a team. Date and Location: TBA Storming phase workshop brochure |
